Anticipation for games to come

I'm not sure if I'm the impatient one here..... but new XBOX 360 games better get here quick.  The die-hard PS3 fans are really annoying me with their XBOX 360-bashing antics.

Suppose you don't like sports games.... like myself.  Then you have a solid 6 games to choose from........ 6 GAMES!!!  That's all?  That's ridiculous.  Or worse yet, suppose your favorite type of games are sports games.  You have less than 6 to choose from.  I know that there are literally more than 12 games to choose from, but I didn't get a 360 to settle for mediocrity.  Quake 4 is an embarrasement to the 360.  The game is horrendous in all aspects and I don't even consider it an option.  There are many more that really suck and in my eyes 360 equals next generation which means mediocrity doesn't cut it.  Too many regular XBOX games look better than Quake 4 or Amped 3.  FFXI which is in free open beta right now is a complete embarrassment which no one in their right minds should pay 12.00 a month once it's released.

Burnout Revenge will be the best racing game ever made when it's released.  Gears of War looks insane!  Battlefield 2 will be on my doorstep pre-ordered.  Where is Elderscrolls IV?!  Give it to me!

I don't consider the XBOX 360 a next-gen system until some of these games come out.  The longer they wait, the more the PS3 fans are right.  Come on developers!  Not enough man-power to get the games out in time?  Hire people.  I'm available.  I want some real games!

360 is finally here, was it worth it?

OF COURSE!  Now I'm not a Microsoft loyalist, nor am I an anti-Sonyist.  When a multi-platform game was realeased I'd purchase the XBOX version, primarily because of XBOX live, but in many cases (SPECIFICALLY in the Dynasty Warriors games) the XBOX version simply looked better.

Now the next-generation of video games is upon us, does it look like the new generation?  Ehhhhhhh..... Does it visually blow me away?  Uhhhh....... Not really on all accounts.  Is it worth every penny and more?  Absolutely!  Am I looking forward to the PS3?  No.  Will I get one?  At this rate, probably not.

I ended up buying Kameo, Need for Speed Underground, Perfect Dark Zero, and Call of Duty 2.  Kameo is for my wife, and it looks visually stunning and incredible, funny thing is.... she won't let me play it until she beats it, but she never plays it!  Everything else is amazingly like Gamespot and IGN rates them!  About an 8.0 which is "Great".  All of these games are great.  Are they incredible?  Near Perfect?  Mediocre, or poor?  No, they are just really good games.  I was hoping for at least one Amazing or near perfect.  I didn't get it.  The only thing is the interface of the 360.  Every little detail about it.  Wireless, new live features, XBOX live Arcade, customizable on the outside and inside, and finally..... all HD!  The whole thing is beautiful and absolutely worth every penny.  I just want more.  I will buy 2-3 more games this March!  I'm pumped.  It's beautiful.  When news on the PS3 or Revolution comes out I will post again.

360 is near, what to get????

I've selected today to research the possible XBOX 360 release games to find out which ones to buy immediately.  Unfortunately no release dates are concrete as of now.  First I'll list the 360 games that I will purchase no questions asked however not on the launch date because they won't be ready by then.

In reverse order of estimated relase dates.

These are must haves people! Any questions ask me, but believe me.  They are the cream of the crop.  Best RPG, Racing, and FPS games ever made!

Now, the estimated launch games.  The only definites I have are:  (Links to screenshots)

I don't like Sports games, I never have.  But I do love soccer and FIFA 2006 looks like it might be incredible.  It will support LIVE.  So, I believe my decision will be based on how many others purchase FIFA 2006

Which leads me to the FPS.  There are many.  Too many.  These cater to different audiences.  I doubt it's a particular demographic, it's just different tastes.  Unreal Tournaments, Halos, Dooms/Quakes, Ghost Recons.  They are all severely different yet FPS.  So perhaps I like the hybrids because I can see the joys of each.

Problem lies in the this....... there's one of each coming out.  Or at least those styles.

Who knows which will come out on launch date.  But other than those, is anyone getting FFXI, Kameo, or Dynasty Warriors 5?  I dismissed them immediately at first then with a little more investigation, I'm amazingly considering them.

Let me know which games you are planning on getting.  And which FPS.  Gears of War isn't coming out until March or so, Halo 3 not until next summer.  What will hold me over?  Let me know

Forks Mini-Mall

It looks like if this business will work after all, then I might have found a destination for a retail store.  Facing 101, the Forks Mini-Mall is located next to Chinook Pharmacy and the Forks Extension site of Peninsula College.  Perfect location for the store.  I'm still looking for a better name.  Level 79 and VicVicious's Gaming World are the top two contenders.

Attaining a business license is quite a bit of work.  I might have to take a class or read up on some stuff to make sure things go right the first time around.  There is plenty of work to do, not to mention all the work that needs to be done once the business is up.  If I indeed get a full time job right away, then that will be a large blow to the game store.  No time.  My next entry will be about my personal struggle with the commitment about this store.

The fact about the opening in this mini-mall might be a great thing.  Let's hope for the best.

EB MERGE

So, I'm assuming everyone has read the article on Gamespot about the merge.  If not, http://www.gamespot.com/news/2005/04/18/news_6122418.html

That is some crazy ass news.  After meeting with a few buds.  I've been thinking a lot about VicVicious's Gaming World.  Man that name just does not flow.  Any decent suggestions, please feel free to comment, I'd appreciate it.  So I'm thinking about the scope of this business and this new news affects the business greatly.  I've always been great at concepts, but bringing them to fruition is a different story.

I'm unsure of the steps to make now.  Intimidation is a sad thing.  That's essentially what's happening now.  The success of this business is so epic in proportion I'm not sure how much I can handle.  Basically.... I'm starting to fully realize how much work this will actually be.  Competing on such a big scale with these gaming mecca’s..... It’s no cakewalk.  I'm contemplating starting small.  Real small.

I'm heavily considering having a retail store in Forks, that will stem out to the peninsula.  Focus small, success at some small rate will boost confidence.  I believe I can successfully corner the market in my territory there.  That is something that can be reasonably be done.  I believe that will be the beginning.

THE ORIGIN

Born in 1979 didn't give me a chance to play the original's that came out for the Atari.  I was a bit too young to get a handle on anything more simplistic than PONG.  However I was of ripe age when the NES (Nintendo Entertainment System, the original) came out.  The first of its kind, I can remember weeks going by where my friends would try to persuade me to leave the house to do something...... anything!  I was engrossed by the concept of what was being funneled into my mind.  Mike Tyson's Punchout was the game.  Everything about this game heightened my sense; it was an introduction to absolute mind stimulation.  Hence I was born again yet to the Gaming World.  Life would never be the same again.

The obvious games were to follow.  Mario Bros., Dragon Warrior, Excitebike, Bionic Commando (which I still can't get out of my head today.... more on this later), Final Fantasy and so on.  Sega Mastersystem, though I was unaware of their competitive nature, came out and I soon fell victim to Golden Axe I believe it's called, Phantasy Star 1, and so on.  Then every video games system out there (minus the NEO GEO).  Even got that damn Turbo Graphx 16 at 250.00 which died a year later.  Now I find myself pre-ordering two copies of the Next Gen XBOX and a copy of the PS3 and Revolution.  Why can't I get enough?

I can play for weeks; I have played for months now that I think about it.  I'm talking about entire summers spent playing games for 10-13 hours a day for 3 months straight.  Kind of like Neo being a machine able to suck up all that knowledge.  The only thing left for them to do before I'm satisfied is quite frankly.... just that.  Plug me in, I'm ready.  The Gaming World knows me and I know it.

Moving to small town

So, VicVicious here getting ready to move in the summer.  A new life awaits me where I believe I will make my first steps to serving the public in a way that I've always wanted to.

VicVicious' Gaming World  Seems like a bad name.  Odds are it will be changed, but for the time being I must start somewhere.  To my knowledge, I'm a primary source of reference when it comes to advice on the Gaming World.  Hence, VicVicious's Gaming World!

Who knows when I'll be up and running live.  But we at least know that I'm moving to my new location on June 1st which will be the new headquarters of VicVicious's Gaming World.
